Remembrance in Year 2

In Year 2 this week we have worked hard on a Remembrance Day project. We held our 2 minute silence at 11:00am on the 11th and we remembered them.

Remembrance Day 2020

The pupils across the whole school have created a beautiful waterfall of poppies for our Remembrance of WWI, WWII, The Falklands and more recent conflicts.  All pupils created a poppy which was then attached in our Reception Area.

Measurement in Year 2

In maths this week we have been learning all about measure. We had a fantastic morning where we explored mass, capacity and measuring in centimetres. We worked on different stations from making magic potions in millilitres to measuring beanstalks in centimetres. We also compared different weights of food and weighed out sugar and salt.

Instructions and Plants in Year 2

In Year 2 we have been looking at instructions. We followed some instructions for jam sandwiches and learnt that instructions need a title, an equipment list, bullet points, numbers, diagrams and imperative verbs. Colour Mixing in Year 2

Year 2 have been looking at colour this week. We used skittles to explore mixing and repeated patterns. The children predicted what might happen and then watched the results.
