The Three Little Pigs in Year 1

This week in Year 1 we have been learning all about the  story of the ‘Three Little Pigs.’ We have had so much fun learning the actions for our story map and we even used our amazing drama skills to act the story out. What a super week Year 1, well done!

Forest School in Year 1

The children in Year 1 have had great fun drilling and hammering at Forest School today.  We are making a year group picture of a butterfly by hammering in nails.  We then used hand drills to drill holes and then wove wool through them.

Kandinsky Artwork in Year One

This week in Year One, we have been making our very own Kandinsky artwork using a range of colouring pencils and pastels.  

Colour Mixing in Year 1

This week in Art, we looked at the primary colours which are red, blue and yellow.  Then, we mixed these colours using paper plates to make secondary colours, we learnt that red and blue make purple, yellow and blue make green, yellow and red make orange.

Signs of Spring in Year 1

This week, Year 1 have been out in the Eco garden looking for signs of spring.  We found different trees in bud, some flowers growing and also found some frogspawn.  We took some back to class to observe closely.
