Science in Year 6

This week in Year 6 we have been learning about the transport of nutrients within the body in our Science lessons. We measured out the length of the small intestine and couldn’t believe it was seven metres long in an adult’s body! We also drew comic strips to show how nutrients are absorbed for energy.Â
Forest School ‘Cooking’ in Year 1

We had a wonderful Forest School session this week. We enjoyed making our own games, and creating our own food – we even began planting some potatoes.
Kandinsky in Nursery

This week the Nursery children have been creating art work inspired by the artist Kandinsky. They used oil pastels to draw circles then painted over the top with water colours. Great work Nursery!

This Week in Year 4

Year 4 have continued to enjoy Herefordshire Crickets- Chance to Shine programme this week. We have been working on our bowling and batting skills. Alongside we are investigating how different glues work in preparation for making paper sculptures. Â A very sticky end to the week.Â
Farms in Nursery

In nursery this week the children have enjoyed learning about farm animals and sharing all their experiences of being on a farm. They have explored lots of different activities that have been linked to farms.
Greek Gods and Goddesses in Year 5

As part of our topic of Ancient Greece, we have been looking in detail at the different Greek Gods and Goddesses. We became researchers and found out as much information as possible, and then created a fact file to present our findings. Here are some examples:
Science Experiments in Year 2

Year 2 have been testing the suitability of materials. Our experiment was to see which material would bounce the most and why. We found the bouncy ball to be the bounciest as it’s made from rubber which is a strong, stable but squashable material.

Year 3 Film Making Project

All of the Year 3 pupils were busy making their own movie trailers today. They learned about camera angles, types of shots and how to film from a storyboard. They showed impressive team building skills and encouraged each other to be strong and positive.
