Sewing the Greek Alphabet in Year 5

As part of our topic on the Ancient Greeks we took some time looking at the Greek alphabet. We then designed our own bunting in which we took one letter each from the alphabet and cut some material to create a flag. We drew and cut the shape of the letters and then we tried to perform a blanket stitch or a previously learnt stitch to sew our letters onto our flags. The final alphabets (with some repeated letters) are displayed in our classrooms for all to see and we think they look great!
