Spanish Art in Year 3

Hedgehogs in Reception

This week,we have been looking at the topic Autumn. We have based this topic around the book ‘The Prickly Hedgehog.’ In class, we have made clay Hedgehogs, collaged Hedgehogs and made autumn pictures using natural resources.

Mandalas in Year 1

At forest school this week we looked at Mandala patterns and Andy Goldsworthy. The children collected different coloured leaves on their way to school and we made our own masterpieces!

Sketching in Year 4

This week Year 4 have been developing their sketching and shading techniques to create 3-D like images on paper.  We have also been developing our descriptive setting writing to enhance the readers imagination.  

Autumnal Change in Reception

Reception went for a walk to Widemarsh Common on Tuesday and on our way we looked at how the leaves were changing colour. We also looked at the blue sky and clouds, and had a look at some conkers! RMD have also been exploring different ways of drawing lines to create shapes and patterns.

Colour Mixing in Year 2

Year 2 have been looking at colour this week. We used skittles to explore mixing and repeated patterns. The children predicted what might happen and then watched the results.

Jack and the Beanstalk in Year 2

In Year 2 we have been continuing to explore the adventure of Jack and the Beanstalk and the giant paid us a visit – we described what he was like and how he looked. We have also been investigating plants in science and colour mixing in art – look at our beautiful flowers.
