Fireworks in Year 1

The children in Year 1 used what they have learnt about different lines to create their own fireworks pictures. We used oil pastels and created vertical, horizontal, wavy, curvy and diagonal lines, as well as using cross hatching to add depth to our pictures.
EY/KS1 Harvest

A Year 1 Spooky Skeleton

In forest school the children followed a plan to make a spooky skeleton. Â They gathered sticks to represent each bone. Â We talked about the job of a skeleton and named the bones feeling our own bones as we did e.g. collar bone. They did a great job!Â
Year 1 Scarecrows and Litter Pick

Year 1 have been celebrating Harvest by making scarecrows and following our school slogan of ‘Don’t Just Stand There’. To be helpful to our school community we have been doing litter picks around the school grounds.
The Spaghetti Challenge

This week in 2T as part of PSHE we focussed on ‘Team work’ and in groups of 3 or 4 had to complete the spaghetti challenge. We were given the challenge of building a free-standing tower as tall as we could, using only marshmallows and spaghetti. Everyone loved this challenge!
