The Gingerbread Man in Reception

This week in Reception, we have been learning all about the story of the Gingerbread Man. The children have used collage and painted their own Gingerbread men, built houses, retold the story and created our very own bakery!

Forest School in Year 1

In Forest School this week Year 1 continued to looking at materials and their properties. They made predictions and tested whether objects floated or sank, and also helped a mermaid make a new tail out of a waterproof material. The focus was on looking carefully and carrying out a test.

Egyptian Gods and Goddesses in Year 5

As part of their topic, year 5 have just started studying Ancient Egypt. We looked at the Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses and created our own Gods based on our lesson.

Self-Portraits in 1J

In 1J we had a go at drawing our own self-portraits. We looked at different ways of shading and using appropriate colours by telling our friends what colour eyes they have if they couldn’t remember.

Electrical challenges in Year 6

Year 6 have started their electricity topic, in science, by completing a set of challenges to refresh their knowledge of electrical circuits.  They also took part in a Dragons’ Den briefing session and learnt about the challenges that lie ahead as designers of festive lights and decorations with an electric buzz.
