Today Year 4 celebrated World Book Day by dressing as a character from one of our favourite books. It was fantastic to share and discuss a huge range of books and characters and we all have recommendations that we’re excited to read. As part of today’s activities, we the created a story in a jar, some took the essence of our topic – Explorers and captured our own jar adventures, others used the inspiration from the books we discussed.. Through decorations, adding toys, creating scenes and characters, and even writing key phrases on the jars, the children excelled in their imagination and retelling of stories. The children then with great enthusiasm retold to their classes their jar stories. The Year 4 teachers enjoyed visiting the other classes to share their favourite picture story book across the year.
