Well Being Week

What a fantastic week we have had! Every day has seen a wealth of enriching experiences for both children and staff, and we hope that the children have enjoyed it as much as we have.

Monday saw each class creating a healthy recipe that we put together into a school recipe book that has sold very successfully, and we thank you all for supporting us with this. There was a wide range of different recipes submitted with some entries from the staff too. There are still some left if you would like to get yours for only £2. The children also got the chance to have a go at making their own fruit kebabs and it was great to see them trying fruit that they may never have tasted before.

On Tuesday we were visited by the Hereford Yoga Centre, and the children got to take part in their own Yoga classes. They also attended an assembly which looked into the benefits of looking after our bodies and also our minds and how we can do this.

On Wednesday the children put on their dancing shoes and took part in some contemporary dance, led by the 2Faced Dance Company, who also host after school clubs throughout the year. They learnt a variety of different routines and moves, some taken from their own productions.

On Thursday there was lots of outdoor fun, organised by Mr James, where the children were grouped into their houses, and participated in some fun games with a mixture of year groups. In the afternoon, the whole school took to the running track for some relay and running races, and we even managed to persuade some of the staff to take part too, which the children absolutely loved.

Rounding the week off perfectly, we all dressed in bright colours and made masks, instruments and streamers, and had our whole school carnival. The weather was beautiful and we all enjoyed some ice creams out on the field with music, before having a dance to finish our week of well being.

The entire week was a huge success and the staff and children put all of their efforts into making it so. Special thanks must go to Mrs Benjamin, Mrs Morris-Davies, Mr James and Mrs McColl for organising such a fun and enlightening week of activities. Thank you to you all for your support as always. There will be more photos to follow…
