Remembrance Day

plaque

The Nursery children have really enjoyed creating some fantastic poppy artwork to mark Remembrance Day.  The children have made beautiful poppy prints using halved apples and they worked together to create a group poppy collage.

Matilda in Reception made this lovely digital painting using the touch screen panel in her classroom. The children in Year R have been learning about Remembrance Day and watched a CBeebies clip.

Year 1 will be taking a minute silence during their trip to Goodrich castle next week. We think that this will be a wonderful place to by quiet and reflect.

Some KS2 pupils have been in the eco garden and made a beautiful remembrance plaque.

Year 2 walked up to the Cenotaph and also visited the garden of Remembrance at the Cathedral. We talked about the different parts of a poppy and were fascinated with the fact the leaf points to 11.00! We then made poppy printing pictures and Hereford Rocks which we decorated with a poppy. Today we watched the CBBC rabbit clip which shows effects of the war on a rabbit. We discussed how the rabbit would be feeling in each scene and how the colours and music in the clip added to the feeling of it.

We hope that you like the stained glass window pictures and poppies made by Year 3 pupils.

Year 5 have worked really hard to create these beautiful poppy pictures for Remembrance Day, which are on display at the top of the stairs.
