Pyramids and Heiroglyphics in Year 5

Image1-1

This week Year 5 have been learning all about Ancient Egyptian pyramids, their locations, how they built them and what Pharoahs were buried with in order to get to the afterlife. As well as learning about pyramids, we also learnt all about heiroglyphics and how the Ancient Egyptians communicated. The Egyptians used to write the names of their Pharoahs to show they were special. The symbols would usually be written vertical when writing their names. Here are some examples of our own names written in heiroglyphics as well as a chosen God that we believe represents us best. We even made our own version of papyrus paper before decorating our names and Gods on it. We really enjoyed this week!
