Following on from the recent letter issued regarding the vacancy for a parent governor, we will now hold a ballot for the two nominations received.  You will be sent a ballot paper with instructions on how to place your vote. Please see below their personal statements:

Candidate                 Andy Bridgewater

I would like to apply for the vacancy of school governor. I have two daughters who attend Lord Scudamore and various other children through friends and colleagues of mine. I am passionate about their education along with education in general for our County.  Their future is of the uppermost importance to me, therefore I would be delighted to be given the opportunity in making a difference in the education of, not just my daughters, but the school as a whole.

I have a military background and am currently a Sales Manager for a global manufacturing company and manage a team of eight sales staff.  It is imperative for me to understand how business works and all the varying factors that make a business successful, especially in such turbulent times.

As a School Governor we should impartially listen to parents, carers and pupils in regards to their feelings on general matters in which they raise and present a balanced view.  Maintaining an approachable and reliable stance.

I agree with the ethos of the school that our children should be prepared for future life:

  • Academically
  • Socially, Morally, Spiritually
  • Physically
  • Aesthetically

I would find it an honour to work with the school and its parents and pupils and have a positive effect on the future of our Children.

Best Regards

Andy Bridgewater

Candidate                 Nick Locke – Personal Statement

Firstly, I am a parent of a child currently in Year 1 and hope to have my daughter start at nursery and journey through Lord Scudamore, starting in September – which means I will have a vested interest in the running of the school for the four year period/term of the post.

Secondly, I am also a primary school teacher myself at Burghill Community Academy.  Therefore, I will also bring a realistic point of view from a classroom and school environment on top of wanting the best opportunities at Lord Scudamore for mine and other people’s children.
