Observational Drawing in Year 1

This week we have been looking at observational drawing in Year 1. We looked, felt and smelt our pumpkins to understand them better. Following this we had a go at ‘blind drawing’ them using cardboard around our pencils to hide what we’d drawn. This was great fun and showed some interesting results. For our final piece we drew our pumpkins before using a combination of different media to colour and shade them.
