Inter-Schools Debating Competition

Three pupils from Lord Scudamore Academy have been selected to represent the school in a Herefordshire schools debating competition.  There will be three children on each school team and they will be competing against other primary schools in November at Whitecross High School.

On 7th October, the children attended a training session at The Left Bank and they worked with high school students from Whitecross who regularly take part in debating competitions.  They also heard from MP Jesse Norman who debates regularly at The House of Commons and Pete Lawrence, who started The Big Chill festival and now runs a debating company.

This will be a great opportunity for them to improve their literacy skills, as well as representing the school at county level.
