Separating Solids in Year 4

Year 4 have been looking at how to separate solids in science focusing on the skills of making predictions and investigating. It has been messy but fun!

Remembrance Day 2020

The pupils across the whole school have created a beautiful waterfall of poppies for our Remembrance of WWI, WWII, The Falklands and more recent conflicts.  All pupils created a poppy which was then attached in our Reception Area.  

Solids, liquids and gases in Year 4

This week, Year 4 have been learning about solids, liquids and gases. In small groups, we categorised different materials into a solid, liquid or gas based on their properties and discussed whether some materials could fit into more than one.

Harvest and RE in Year 4

Before half term, Year 4 have been celebrating Harvest and have created some abstract art based on the artist Vincent Scarpace.  We have also celebrated Diwali and the story of Rama and Sita and created a pathway of light.

Sketching in Year 4

This week Year 4 have been developing their sketching and shading techniques to create 3-D like images on paper.  We have also been developing our descriptive setting writing to enhance the readers imagination.  

Hindu Gods in Year 4

Year 4 have been learning about Hinduism and how Hindus worship different Gods. Everyone has researched different Hindu Gods and then created their own, like the great example below.
