Colour mixing in Year 1

Year 1 have been looking at mixing the primary colours to create secondary colours. We experimented with different materials and then created our own artwork inspired by Jasper Johns.
Christmas Card Winner!

Daisy in 1M has been awarded a reindeer cuddly toy for her fabulous Christmas card design. Daisy’s card was voted as the best design in a national competition for Class Fundraising. We are super proud of Daisy and her fantastic artwork!
Christmas movie message from all the staff

Messy Play in Year 1

As part of our advent treat the children in Year 1 had a morning of Messy Play! We got the paint, playdough and glitter out to create some Christmas creations on a large scale. Great fun!
Debugging in Year 1

This week the children discussed how to debug an algorithm. We looked at a map and followed the instructions given. When we discovered a problem with the instructions (algorithm) we debugged it by removing or changing the step given.
Nationwide visit Year 1

Pudsey visits Lord Scudamore

On Thursday Pudsey came to visit us at school. The children were very excited and high fived and waved to him. We then raised money for Children in Need by dressing in bright colours and spots on Friday. Thank you for all your donations and colourful clothing.
Year 1 Hapa zome

During our Forest School sessions in Year 1 the children have been using a technique called ‘hapa zome’ to create leaf prints on fabric.
