Hot Seating in Year 1

This week in Year 1, we have all had a go at hot seating in the role of the Big Bad Wolf. This really helped us with making our wanted posters and writing a new ending to the story.Â

Forest School in Year 1

Year 1 have had great fun doing forest school and their first swimming lessons. Â 1M explored the eco garden and had the challenge of making the tallest tower. Â The children worked well as a team and had a fabulous time. Â We met a lovely snail who one of the children named John!Â

Music Week in Year 1

We have had great fun recreating our own Glastonbury Festival this week. Damper Bread in Year 1

In forest school we made damper bread. This is traditionally from Australia. We made the dough and then baked it on sticks over the fire. We ate it with jam and it was delicious!
Digital Ambassadors in Year 1

The Digital Ambassadors visited us in Year 1 to teach us how to use spheros. We had great fun controlling them around the map of Little Red Riding Hood and then having races in the hall.
Year 1 Fruit/Veg Tasting

Year 1 have been enjoying finding out about the differences between fruit and vegetables as part of our DT project. They have been learning about where they grow and tasting them in preparation to make smoothies in the coming weeks.
Boats in Year 1

In our latest forest school sessions we read the beautiful book ‘The Boat’ by Helen Ward and Ian Andrew. Â The children then had to make a boat to get Petunia the pig down the river.
