Forest School in Year 1

We had lots of fun at forest school on Friday.  We played hide and seek and a robin joined us!  Then we had a scavenger hunt for interesting objects and made some natural art using our finds.

Art Club in Year 1

The Year 1 children have enjoyed Art Club. We looked at different fireworks and used our previous learning of different lines during Art lessons to create our own fireworks pictures.

Autumn Walk in Year 1

Year 1 went for a walk on Thursday to spot signs of Autumn.  After watching ‘Let’s go for a walk’ with Ranger Hamza, they were ready to look and listen carefully.  They noticed where they were and, like Hamza does, they used their geography skills to make a simple map of their route. 

Diwali in Forest School

At forest school on Friday Year 1 made firework sticks to celebrate Diwali.  We learned about Diwali and also looked at 3D art.  We used wrapping skills to make our firework sticks!

Jobs in Year 1

This week in Year 1, we have had lots of fun learning about medieval jobs which people did in castles, from noble men to gong farmers, and comparing them with jobs which people do today. We really enjoyed talking about what we wanted to do when we were older!
