Castles in Year 1

This week we had fun virtually exploring castles using Google Expeditions.  We learnt the names for different parts of a castle and built our own.  We also used our crocodiles to compare numbers.

Remembrance Day 2020

The pupils across the whole school have created a beautiful waterfall of poppies for our Remembrance of WWI, WWII, The Falklands and more recent conflicts.  All pupils created a poppy which was then attached in our Reception Area.  

LS Lowry in Year 1

In Year 1 we have been enjoying our topic of ‘Houses and Homes’. As part of this, we have looked at the artist LS Lowry and his different pieces of art. We had a go at layering our own pictures in the style of Lowry and have displayed them in school for all to see.

Mandalas in Year 1

At forest school this week we looked at Mandala patterns and Andy Goldsworthy. The children collected different coloured leaves on their way to school and we made our own masterpieces!
