All Things Wild in Year 3

In Year 3, we are excited to tell you all about our wonderful trip to All Things Wild in Evesham. We visited it alongside our Animals Including Humans topic in science. It was full of interesting and unusual animals and we got to learn so much about how animals adapt to their habitats. Did you […]
Moon Craters in Year 5

Year 5 began their science topic ‘Forces’ this afternoon. We had a great time investigating gravitational pull and the impact an object’s mass has on the ‘crater’ created from the force pulling it downwards. We used different spherical objects and investigated the diameter created from each. Using flour and cocoa powder, we pretended to be […]
Evolution and Inheritance in Year 6

In Year 6 this week, we started our new Science topic on Evolution and Inheritance. We learnt about how animals have had to adapt to their environment, specifically how they camouflage themselves. We were then given a butterfly that we had to put in plain sight in the classroom but had to camouflage it. We […]
Cosmo the Gecko in Year 1

Bird Hunting in Reception

During Forest School, Reception enjoyed going on a bird hunt. We talked about the names of the birds, what they sound like and what they like to eat. Everyone then made a bird feeder using a card tube, lard and bird seed. We hung these around the garden for the birds to enjoy later! The children […]
Growth in Year 3

In Science this week we have been looking at how our bodies grow. We carried out an investigation where we measured the body parts of children in Year 1, Year 3 and adults. We found that the only part of our body that stays the same size throughout our lives is our eyeballs! We had […]
Friction in Year 4

In Year 4 the children had a fun afternoon exploring friction. As a year group, they tested out different surfaces and how the car moved along them. It was a lot of fun!
Earth and Space in Year 5

Year 5 have just begun their Earth and Space topic in their Science. As part of this, they learnt about the different phases of the moon. They did a mini experiment, using Oreo biscuits to represent these different stages. They really enjoyed this, as you can imagine!
Reptiles visit Nursery

The Nursery children loved having Lindsey from Roaming Reptiles to visit us with some of her animals. They had the opportunity to stroke a bearded dragon, a corn snake, a tortoise, a blue tongued skink, a royal python and hold a tarantula!
Earth and Space in Year 5

Year 5 began their Earth and Space topic this week in science. Our lesson was all about learning the different planets in our solar system and how they move relative to the sun. We explored different ways to show our learning including using fruit and veg as well as taking our learning outside.Â
