Shape in Reception

Remembrance Day 2020

The pupils across the whole school have created a beautiful waterfall of poppies for our Remembrance of WWI, WWII, The Falklands and more recent conflicts. Â All pupils created a poppy which was then attached in our Reception Area.
How To Catch a Star in Reception

We have been reading How to Catch a Star in Reception and making our own rockets to try to catch our own stars! We’ve also been talking about Bonfire Night and creating our own pictures of the fireworks we’ve seen.
Hedgehogs in Reception

This week,we have been looking at the topic Autumn. We have based this topic around the book ‘The Prickly Hedgehog.’ In class, we have made clay Hedgehogs, collaged Hedgehogs and made autumn pictures using natural resources.
Making Numbers in Reception

Reception have been making numbers! We decorated our numbers and have had great fun counting along our new numberline.
Autumnal Change in Reception

Reception went for a walk to Widemarsh Common on Tuesday and on our way we looked at how the leaves were changing colour. We also looked at the blue sky and clouds, and had a look at some conkers! RMD have also been exploring different ways of drawing lines to create shapes and patterns.
The Gingerbread Man in Reception

This week in Reception, we have been learning all about the story of the Gingerbread Man. The children have used collage and painted their own Gingerbread men, built houses, retold the story and created our very own bakery!
Funny Faces in RG

In RG we’ve had great fun using the different resources to make funny faces. We’ve made different alien faces as well as self portraits!
