Bird Hunting in Reception

During Forest School, Reception enjoyed going on a bird hunt. We talked about the names of the birds, what they sound like and what they like to eat. Everyone then made a bird feeder using a card tube, lard and bird seed. We hung these around the garden for the birds to enjoy later! The children […]

Reptiles in Reception

Reception had an amazing experience this week, when Roaming Reptiles paid us a visit and we got to see, stroke and hold some amazing exotic creatures. Not everyone was comfortable in the room with snakes, spiders, scorpions, lizards and a tortoise but it really was incredible to actually see these animals up close.

Forest School in Nursery

Reception enjoyed a lovely visit to the Eco Garden today, in the sunshine!  We found lots of footprints and matched them to the woodland animals. We then worked together to build some fantastic homes for the foxes, squirrels, moles, etc.  The children are really looking forward to next week’s Forest School session!

Vets in Reception

Our Reception children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring our Vets role play this week.  We have been learning about the role of a vet and the different medical equipment they might use to help treat and care for our pets.

Christmas fun in Nursery and Reception

Nursery and Reception have well and truly got into the festive spirit this week! We’ve enjoyed Christmas Jumper Day, a Christmas lunch, a visit from Santa and his reindeer, and we performed our Nativity at St Nicholas’ Church! We look forward to even more Christmas activities next week!

Gingerbread Man

We have been enjoying listening to traditional tales. We have looked at the story of The Gingerbread Man. We made and and tasted gingerbread men. Then we made salt dough gingerbread men which we will take home for Christmas. We then painted portraits of them.

Pudsey visits Lord Scudamore

On Thursday Pudsey came to visit us at school. The children were very excited and high fived and waved to him. We then raised money for Children in Need by dressing in bright colours and spots on Friday. Thank you for all your donations and colourful clothing.
