Experimenting in Year 2

This week in Science we were looking into materials and had to design a suitable outfit for ‘Traction Man’, made from waterproof materials. Â Here we are experimenting with different materials.
Yoga in Year 2

Year 2 have enjoyed learning some new yoga poses in their PE lessons. They have really perfected the ‘turtle’ pose!
Adaptation in Year 6

In Science this week, as part of our topic on Evolution and Inheritance, we learnt about adaption and how animals have had to adapt to their environments. We had to pick an animal, find its correct environment and then explain its adaptive traits. Here are some examples:
Skittles in Year 1

We have been looking at the popular skittles experiment in Science in Year 1. We added warm water to the skittles and watched as the colours ran in together to make a mixed rainbow. Next we are planning ways to change our experiment and have made predictions about what will happen.
All Things Wild in Year 3

In Year 3, we are excited to tell you all about our wonderful trip to All Things Wild in Evesham. We visited it alongside our Animals Including Humans topic in science. It was full of interesting and unusual animals and we got to learn so much about how animals adapt to their habitats. Did you […]
Amazon Art in Year 4

This week in Year 4, we have been getting creative in our art project ‘Fabric of Nature’. We have been exploring the beautiful Amazon Rainforest and sketching the different animals and plants you might find there, focusing on the textures and details we can see. We then created our own mood board and got a […]
Under the Sea in Reception

This week, Reception have been learning about how amazing and beautiful it is under the sea. Some of the children painted the ocean and then used their scissor skills to create an amazing ocean scene. It has been exciting learning about the different sea creatures and we all wanted to be divers or go in […]
Bug Hunting in Nursery

The children had great fun bug hunting in the eco garden. They explored all around, thinking about where they might find different minibeasts. They managed to find some snails, slugs, beetles, worms, a bumble bee and lots and lots of woodlice!Â
Moon Craters in Year 5

Year 5 began their science topic ‘Forces’ this afternoon. We had a great time investigating gravitational pull and the impact an object’s mass has on the ‘crater’ created from the force pulling it downwards. We used different spherical objects and investigated the diameter created from each. Using flour and cocoa powder, we pretended to be […]
Evolution and Inheritance in Year 6

In Year 6 this week, we started our new Science topic on Evolution and Inheritance. We learnt about how animals have had to adapt to their environment, specifically how they camouflage themselves. We were then given a butterfly that we had to put in plain sight in the classroom but had to camouflage it. We […]
