Chinese New Year in Reception

Reception have had a wonderful time learning about Chinese New Year. The children have been busy playing in the Chinese Restaurant and tasting typical Chinese food, creating Chinese lanterns, painting Chinese style symbols and travelling like the animals in the Chinese Zodiac Race story.

Clarice Cliff in Year 1

This week in Year 1, we have learnt all about Clarice Cliff and have spent lots of time looking at and admiring her various artwork. This inspired us to apply our colour mixing skills we have learnt over Spring term to paint a plate in her style, with concentric circles in both primary and secondary colours. 

Forest School in Year 1

This week 1S had their final session.  They were looking for signs of spring.  The garden is really coming to life.  They identified trees and plants by looking at their buds, made a car and a house, extended the assault course and even saw frogspawn.

Bike Ability in Year 6

This week and next, Year 6 have had the opportunity to take part in Bike Ability. We have been given the opportunity to gain confidence and skills to ride our bikes on today’s roads. We have been riding our bikes on the school playground as well as on local roads near the school.
