Skeletons in Year 3

We have been so busy this week in Year 3 beginning our new Topics! Before we move on to habitats in science, we wanted to share with you some of the facts we learnt about the human body in our last Topic. Did you know that babies have more bones that adults?

Ancient Greece in Year 5

As part of our topic about Ancient Greece, Year 5 have been learning the story of Medusa in English. They have started to develop their own mythical monster characters that they will create a mythological story about. Here are some examples of their monster information sheets:

Mountains in Year 4

This week Year 4 have been learning about their new geography topic, mountains! We discussed famous mountains that we were already aware of as well as introducing what features make a mountain. Next week, we look forward to developing our knowledge with the different types of mountains.  

Roman Amphitheatres in Year 3

In year 3 this week we have been learning all about Roman Amphitheatres. We were amazed by all the outrageous events that were held there during the Roman period – including gladiator battles!

Astronauts and Easter in Year 4

This week Year 4 pupils have been creating information posters to inform the reader what skill are required to become an astronaut.  This brings our Explorers Topic to a close. We also created some Easter art work representing new life, spring which is linked to our RE topic.

Flashback Stories in Year 6

Year 6 have been writing flashback stories in English this week.  They have been tasked with including dialogue and ambitious vocabulary whilst  really focusing on editing and proof-reading their work.  We have thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every one.

Colour Mixing in Year 1

This week in Art, we looked at the primary colours which are red, blue and yellow.  Then, we mixed these colours using paper plates to make secondary colours, we learnt that red and blue make purple, yellow and blue make green, yellow and red make orange.
