Retelling the Story of the Ugly Duckling in Reception

This week in Reception, the children have been learning to retell the story of ‘The Ugly Duckling’. We have been colouring, cutting and sticking the pictures for the story in the correct order before writing our own versions of the story.
Creative Poems in Year 3

In Year 3 this week, we have been learning about how rhyme is used in poetry. We have used rhyme to describe a superhero in our own creative poems.
Astronauts and Easter in Year 4

This week Year 4 pupils have been creating information posters to inform the reader what skill are required to become an astronaut. Â This brings our Explorers Topic to a close. We also created some Easter art work representing new life, spring which is linked to our RE topic.
Flashback Stories in Year 6

Year 6 have been writing flashback stories in English this week. They have been tasked with including dialogue and ambitious vocabulary whilst really focusing on editing and proof-reading their work. We have thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every one.

Jack and the Beanstalk in Reception

This week in Reception, we have been looking at the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We’ve really enjoyed this topic! We’ve planted our own beans, acted the story out and even made our own story maps.

Journeys in Reception

Reception have been looking at journeys. We read the story of Little Red Riding Hood and looked at the journey she took to Grandmas house. We then painted the characters she saw on her way.
How To Catch a Star in Reception

We have been reading How to Catch a Star in Reception and making our own rockets to try to catch our own stars! We’ve also been talking about Bonfire Night and creating our own pictures of the fireworks we’ve seen.
