World Book Day in Year 1

Year 1 enjoyed celebrating World Book Day by learning to recite the poem they have been studying ‘If I Had Wings’. The children enjoyed decorating their t-shirts looking at the different senses. We think our t-shirts look fantastic! What do you think?

World Book Day 2023 in Nursery

We had lots of different story characters show up to Nursery today! Happy World Book Day. The children have enjoyed learning the actions for Baa Baa Black Sheep and sharing their favourite books with each other. Well done Nursery!

Instructions in Year 3

Our latest topic in English has involved looking at reading and writing instructions. This week, we finished off this topic by writing our own set of instructions on how to wash Scarlett, our school dog! The children tried so hard and we are looking forward to seeing how well these instructions work.

Diaries in Year 2

This week in Year 2 we have been busy writing a diary entry set during the Great Fire of London. We have worked so hard on trying to use all the skills needed including writing in the past tense, using conjunctions, adjectives and of course capital letters and full stops.

Gingerbread Man

We have been enjoying listening to traditional tales. We have looked at the story of The Gingerbread Man. We made and and tasted gingerbread men. Then we made salt dough gingerbread men which we will take home for Christmas. We then painted portraits of them.

Anne Frank Diaries in Year 6

This week in Year 6 we have been drafting diary entries in the role of Anne Frank. The children have really enjoyed researching all about her life and using this creatively in their writing.
