Mother’s Day in Reception

This week the Reception children have been painting portraits of their Mum’s for Mother’s Day. They have then stuck these to the front of a card and written a lovely message inside. Happy Mother’s Day!
The Water Cycle in Year 4

This week, Year 4 have been learning all about the Water Cycle and all its different stages. We created some A3 posters to show our understanding. This linked well to our current science topic where we are learning all about changing states of matter.
Journeys in Reception

Reception have been looking at journeys. We read the story of Little Red Riding Hood and looked at the journey she took to Grandmas house. We then painted the characters she saw on her way.
Remembrance in Year 2

In Year 2 this week we have worked hard on a Remembrance Day project. We held our 2 minute silence at 11:00am on the 11th and we remembered them.
Remembrance Day 2020

The pupils across the whole school have created a beautiful waterfall of poppies for our Remembrance of WWI, WWII, The Falklands and more recent conflicts. Â All pupils created a poppy which was then attached in our Reception Area.
How To Catch a Star in Reception

We have been reading How to Catch a Star in Reception and making our own rockets to try to catch our own stars! We’ve also been talking about Bonfire Night and creating our own pictures of the fireworks we’ve seen.
LS Lowry in Year 1

In Year 1 we have been enjoying our topic of ‘Houses and Homes’. As part of this, we have looked at the artist LS Lowry and his different pieces of art. We had a go at layering our own pictures in the style of Lowry and have displayed them in school for all to see.
Poppies in Year 5

In Year 5 we have been creating beautiful poppy drawings for a school Remembrance display. We focused on the different stages of the flower opening and the shading to make it look realistic. Here are some examples of the poppy bud beginning to bloom.
Harvest in Year 6

In Year 6, we have spent time celebrating the things that we are thankful for and thinking of those who are less fortunate than ourselves at harvest time. On outlines of fruits and vegetables, we wrote our thoughts which were hung up on the trees in the local church.
Harvest and RE in Year 4

Before half term, Year 4 have been celebrating Harvest and have created some abstract art based on the artist Vincent Scarpace. Â We have also celebrated Diwali and the story of Rama and Sita and created a pathway of light.
