Birds in Nursery

The children in Nursery have been looking at and carefully drawing birds. Some children even made birds using the playdough. I’m sure you’ll agree they have done brilliantly.

Art in Year 6

This week , Year 6 created individual pieces of modern art. They explored graffiti and how it is used to portray messages that individuals are passionate about. From their investigation, they create a piece of art showing a message they felt most passionate about and the results were incredible! 

Stained glass windows in Year 1

Year 1 have been very lucky to visit Hereford Cathedral this week and take part in a stained glass windows workshop, linked to our Art topic. The children really enjoyed having a tour of the cathedral and admiring the windows before creating their own stained glass windows to take home. 

Significance of the Poppy in Year 6

Year 6 have been learning all about Remembrance Day and the origins and significance of the Poppy. They then had a go at drawing their own poppies and we think you’ll agree they are absolutely amazing. 

Hieroglyphics in Year 5

Year 5 have been focusing on Ancient Egypt this term. We have studied the Pharaohs, the Gods and Goddesses and how Ancient Egyptians wrote things down. They created fantastic posters all about Egypt and even created their own Cartouche with their names written in hieroglyphics!

Earthquake Proof Houses in Year 3

This week in Geography, Year 3 have been looking at earthquakes – following on from our previous work on volcanoes and mountains.  We have developed our understanding of what earthquakes are and where they occur. We had so much fun designing our own earthquake proof houses – as you can see!  Well done Year 3!

Wire Sculptures in Year 4

Year 4 have been learning all about creating sculpture using wire as their structures bases. They did so well shaping the wire and creating model trees in preparation for the Harvest activity next week. All three classes were amazing.
