Eco club visit to Queenswood

On Monday the eco reps visited Queenswood where we took part in waste reduction activities.  We discussed the three Rs of Reduce, Reuse and Recycling.  We discovered that reducing the amount of plastic that we use is better than recycling it.  We played some games and hunted for bugs – Nature’s recyclers. I explored how […]

Crisp recycling

Today we handed over another 1100 crisp packets to Andrew Wood of the Hereford Community recycling project. To date the Terra cycle project has raised £200 for the Born Sleeping appeal and saved over 200,000 packets from going to landfill.  Well done all!

New scooter racks

I am very pleased to say that we received a grant from Sustrans to install new scooter racks.  They have now been installed close to the staff car park.  This means we can fit more bikes in the bike racks and encourage more children to bike, scoot and walk to school. Mrs Steele

The Great River Wye Spring Clean

Thanks to all of those who turned out to help clean up the banks of the River Wye.  Congratulations to Evie who named the barge which travelled down the river collecting rubbish.  We collected 60 sacks of rubbish and 8 bags of cans.

Caerleon

Year 3 enjoyed a great day out at Caerleon last term.  We enjoyed exploring the amphitheatre and trying on the armour.  As you can by Eva’s face the girls didn’t like being told that they couldn’t go to school!
