This week, in maths, we have been focusing on area and perimeter and understanding the difference between the two. We began the week by working out perimeter of rectangles and rectilinear shapes before moving on to area of rectangles and compound shapes. To show our understanding, we have a chance to build our own area and perimeter cities! We first had to come up with names, population and slogans before working out the area and perimeter of given buildings we needed to include in our city. Then it was time to bring them to life either 3D or from a bird’s eye view.
