School Day Timetable
Nursery
Reception
Years 1-6
You may be aware that from September 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) have stated that schools provide a minimum of 32.5 hours of education per week. This directive is part of the government’s initiative to standardise the length of the school week across all schools in England, ensuring that every child receives a full and consistent education.
The 32.5 hour minimum expectation includes the time in each day from the official start of the school day (i.e. morning registration) to the official end of the compulsory school day (i.e. official home time). The
32.5 hour minimum includes lunch times and other breaks as well as teaching time and any enrichment activities that all pupils are expected to attend. It does not include optional before or after school provision.
After a thorough review of our school timetable and in consultation with our governing body, we have planned the necessary adjustments to meet the DfE’s requirements without compromising the quality of our education and the well-being of our children
Drop off and collection
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.
Getting to school
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike racks; please ensure your child wears a bike helmet. If you do need to travel by car, please park in a nearby car park as there is only enough room for members of staff and official visitors in the school car park.
