Year 5 & 6 children have had the opportunity to take part in after-school Spanish club this term which they have absolutely loved! They have been introduced to different aspects of the culture through food, arts and entertainment. In the first session, the children learnt all about the ‘Day of the Dead’ festival where they created lots of different crafts, including skull masks and origami flowers. Following this, they each made a piñata using paper mache; these were then filled with chocolates and sweets to knock down, after they had been decorated with lots of paint and glitter. The children’s favourite session of all was food tasting and they tried and rated everything, from manchego cheese to paella!
