Katherine Johnston – Year 3

As a year group we have talked about the importance of Black History Month and then we found out about Katherine Johnston. We worked in pairs to read the text and highlight the important information about her. We shared our ideas and talked about why she had made a difference in history.

Some of our ideas were:

“She helped stop segregation.”
“She said black people and white people can do the same as each other.”
“She saved the astronauts in space.”
“She helped people go to the moon.”
