Forest School in Reception

During this week’s Forest School session we enjoyed creating a camp fire.  The children collected dry sticks which they tested by snapping them. They then knelt in the ‘respect’ position as they toasted their marshmallows… delicious! 

We talked about the three elements a fire needs: oxygen, heat and fuel (the ‘fire triangle’).  We also discussed how to keep safe around fires and how to properly extinguish the flames.
