DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce our Year 5 trip to SnowDome Snow, Ice & Leisure Tamworth.\nThe children will need to wrap up warm, as they would for a cold winters day! Warm clothes, gloves and a hat are essential for all slope users.  Warm multi-layered leisure-wear is recommended (i.e. t-shirt or under layer, fleece and a jacket) as it’s always better to have a few layers than rely on a single thick jumper. Also, if you have anything waterproof, particularly trousers, then this is ideal.\nPlease note that jeans are not recommended as they will retain moisture, become cold and restrict movement.\nSturdy footwear with a good grip suitable for walking on snow is recommended.  Timberland type boots or wellington boots are perfect, if not, trainers are fine but they are likely to get wet, so please bring a change of footwear.\n \nGloves are a necessity. These should preferably be non-woolly as snow clings to wool. A pair of leather gloves, ski or snowboard gloves will keep your hands warm.\n \nChildren will need to bring snacks and a packed lunch with enough drink for the day. (No fizzy).  Please also send some extra food to ensure they have something to eat for later in the afternoon.\n \nWe would like to remind you that all snow and ice activities are potentially hazardous and participation is done so at the risk of the participant.\n \nIf you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to come and talk to one of us.\n \n

DESCRIPTION:As part of our Easter celebrations in school we are going to be thinking of new lifeand hope and how we can help others. Over recent weeks the children from the Community Crew have been working with members of the Teddy Trust to find outmore about the charity and how we can support it in school.  The Teddy Trust collects pre-loved teddy bears from the UK and sends them to other children in the world who are experiencing suffering, displacement, starvation or war. Countries which they currently send teddy bears to include: Mongolia, Ukraine,\nGreece, Kurdistan, Iraq, South Africa and Syria. This Easter in school we are inviting children to donate any pre-loved teddy bears that they no longer need to the charity.\nDue to the use of the teddies the charity has strict rules about what they can accept.\nThe teddies must:\n• Be small enough for children to carry\n• Be clean and in good condition\n• Be silent (not contain noises, rattles or bells)\n• Be cuddly, soft and comforting\n• Have 2 arms and 2 legs\n• Look happy\n \nThey cannot:\n• Be extra large teddy bears\n• Have mechanisms or batteries inside, and anything that\nmakes a noise\n• Be branded goods or toys\n• Be animals other than bears\n• Be dolls, knitted toys, beanie animals, monsters, or keyring\nWe would be very grateful for any donations you can give.\n

Children are able to look at copies of these and other examples of historical documents.  They will be introduced to the art and tools of writing in late medieval/Tudor England and given opportunity to experiment for themselves, to design their own ‘Tudor’ signature, and, if time permits, to produce a longer piece of writing using calligraphy pens.\n\nSchool uniform and sensible shoes should be worn. Please send a waterproof/weather dependent coat.  Children will need to bring a snack, packed lunch and a water bottle all contained in a named rucksack.  We will be walking from school.\n

A Forest School nurtures an understanding and respect for natural places. Participants experience nature at first hand through a series of engaging and achievable tasks. The forest school experience brings learning to life and improves an individual’s ability to work co-operatively while offering the opportunities to take risks, make choices and initiate learning.\n \nFor Forest School sessions all children should arrive at school wearing a pair of old trousers, a long sleeved top and wear “sensible shoes” – wellies would be best.  We do have waterproof jackets and trousers available for all of the children to use.  We do also have a few pairs of spare wellies if you are struggling to buy any.\n \nAs we often cook snacks and drinks on the fire and are in contact with plants, insects and soil it is essential that parent/carers have returned the permission slip to the class teacher to inform the Forest School leader of your child’s health or dietary requirements.\n

DESCRIPTION:As part of our exciting Tudors topic, Year 4 will be visiting Hereford Cathedral on: \n \nThis school trip is a fantastic learning opportunity which we are hoping the children will thoroughly enjoy.   \n \nWe will be taking part in two different workshops: \n \n\nTudor Trail – Learning about Henry VIII and the Tudor aspects of Hereford Cathedral.  Children meet ‘living history’ Tudor characters and explore the building to discover evidence of the Tudors in Hereford. \nCalligraphy – Amongst the archives there are documents with genuine signatures of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.  Children are able to look at copies of these and other examples of historical documents.  They will be introduced to the art and tools of writing in late medieval/Tudor England and given opportunity to experiment for themselves, to design their own ‘Tudor’ signature, and, if time permits, to produce a longer piece of writing using calligraphy pens. \n\nSchool uniform and sensible shoes should be worn. Please send a waterproof/weather dependant coat.  Children will need to bring a snack, packed lunch and a water bottle all contained in a named rucksack.  We will be walking from school at 9.30am and return in time for normal pick up at the end of the school day. \n \nThe cost of the trip is £4.50 to cover the workshop entry fees and payment can be made on-line via SCO Pay. \n

DESCRIPTION:As part of our exciting Tudors topic, Year 4 will be visiting Hereford Cathedral on: \n \nThis school trip is a fantastic learning opportunity which we are hoping the children will thoroughly enjoy.   \n \nWe will be taking part in two different workshops: \n \n\nTudor Trail – Learning about Henry VIII and the Tudor aspects of Hereford Cathedral.  Children meet ‘living history’ Tudor characters and explore the building to discover evidence of the Tudors in Hereford. \nCalligraphy – Amongst the archives there are documents with genuine signatures of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.  Children are able to look at copies of these and other examples of historical documents.  They will be introduced to the art and tools of writing in late medieval/Tudor England and given opportunity to experiment for themselves, to design their own ‘Tudor’ signature, and, if time permits, to produce a longer piece of writing using calligraphy pens. \n\nSchool uniform and sensible shoes should be worn. Please send a waterproof/weather dependant coat.  Children will need to bring a snack, packed lunch and a water bottle all contained in a named rucksack.  We will be walking from school at 9.30am and return in time for normal pick up at the end of the school day. \n \nThe cost of the trip is £4.50 to cover the workshop entry fees and payment can be made on-line via SCO Pay. \n
