Music and Dance Week

During the week beginning Monday 10th July the whole school will be taking part in various music and dance activities and workshops. From Nursery through to Year 6 we will be experiencing yoga, cheerleading, beat boxing, modern dance, Funky Feet and Beat Goes On. The children will also be studying various composers, exploring fashion, dance and music through the decades, making musical instruments and designing album covers and much more.

On Friday 14th July we will have a whole school finale where we will all be performing together. Ollie Tunmer, former member of Stomp, will be working with the children over three days on body percussion. He will lead a performance that the children will be working towards during the week and will perform to you on Friday morning at 11.15am. All parents are warmly invited to attend this and we hope that you can come and share this magical experience. Weather permitting this event will take place outside.

During the whole of this week the children may wear comfortable clothes to school that allows freedom of movement during these activities. PE kit, leggings and T shirt would be ideal with trainers. Following our school rule no jewellery will be allowed and long hair needs to be tied back during the workshops. If we feel that the children are not dressed suitably and their clothing poses a safety risk then they will not be allowed to take part.

We are very excited about this week and hope that the children make many memories to take with them.

Please see your class teacher if you have any concerns or questions.
